100.63

Pitatus is an impact crater in southwestern lunar front side, on the southern edge of the Mare Nubium. Immediately to the west is the smaller crater Hesiod (crater ).

The rim is heavily eroded, flooded the interior of lava and flat, except for the concentric grooves along the edge of the Rimae Pitatus.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer and mathematician Pietro Pitati.
