Gauss (crater)

Gauss is a lunar crater on the near side of the Moon. It counts with a diameter of 170.72 kilometers of the larger lunar craters and has no central peak. Its depth is 3.6 kilometers.

The discovery of the crater in 1935 officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union and named after the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss.
