Geishöhe

Oberwinterbach is one of several hamlets that belong to the Bavarian village of dam creek. It is located on the 521 meter high mountain Geishöhe. It is the highest permanently inhabited place in the Spessart.

At the highest point of the Geishöhe is the 1936/37, built by the Spessart covenant Ludwig Keller- tower, whose 60 steps lead to a viewing platform with more panoramic view of the Spessart, Odenwald, Taunus and Rhön. The tower was thoroughly renovated in 2003. It is named after the high school professor and former chairman of the Federal Spessart Ludwig Keller ( 1873-1932 ).

The observation tower is regularly used for a limited time because of its exposed position by radio amateurs as a transmission and reception storm in international amateur competitions. 100 meters east of the basement rises a tower 35 m high steel lattice mast which carries the antennas of the receiver and transmitter Geishöhe.

At the Ludwig- cellar tower hit four marked trails in the Spessart federal agencies.
