History

In 1250 the place Capelle is first mentioned in a document. The eponymous chapel was built on the Roman road from Xanten to Straelen. The parish church of St. George in 1305 called in Xanten tithe register. Schloss Haag

The Water Castle is a late medieval structure dating from the 15th century. The first mention dates from 1337, where it is as a fief of the Counts of Cleves as " boff can hike in Haege by Gelre " in possession of Konrad van Issem. Parish Church of St. George

The parish church is a three-aisled Gothic basilica pseudo from the first half of the 15th century. Oldest exhibit is a sculptural group of St. Anne from the beginning of the 16th century. Also worth seeing is the pulpit from 1714 and the high altar from 1888.

House Beerenbrouck

The farm Beerenbrouck was already mentioned in 1331. In its current form it is a two story mansion, which was built around 1800. The house in 1908 was partially destroyed by a fire, the fire destroyed the connected farm completely. The house was included in the list of monuments on 15 October 1986 under number A 24.
