The Ruijters Eaters Geleen are a Dutch Hockey Club from Geleen, which was founded in 1968 and currently plays in the Eredivisie. Play their home games in the club from Glanerbrook which can hold 2,000 spectators.

History

The Mannschafte was established in accordance with the Canadian junior team Trail Smoke Eaters Geleen Smoke Eaters under the name 1968. The establishment was followed by the construction of the ice rink in the same year. Your First Game of the team on November 2, 1968 against the Amstel Amsterdam Tijgers. Since its first season in the Eredivisie, the 1971/72 season, the team was almost exclusively represented in this. The biggest success of the team was winning the national cup competition in the season 1992/ 93 and 2009/2010. In the season 2011/2012 the team won for the first time the Dutch championship. With the Germans Haiko Hirsch and Benjamin Finkenrath, and the Americans Jake Brenk played three players for Geleen, who were later all active for the EHC Dortmund.
