The Gelmke is a 10 km long river in Lower Saxony, which rises in the Gelmketal. The small stream flows through a part of the district Oker ( Goslar ) where it will flow to the Abzucht.

Geography

The Gelmke rises in upper Gelmketal at an altitude of about 610 m above sea level. NN. The source is located east-northeast from the head thicknesses ( 668 m) and north of Oak Mountain (670 m). From here the river flows first in a northerly direction through a dichtbewaldetes valley. It is traversed by the European long-distance hiking trail E11 before he swings in open fields above the former Goslar lagoons to the east. Shortly thereafter, he turns north and ends at the station in Goslar- Oker in the Abzucht.
