Genç, Bingöl

Genç ( Turkish for young), (Kurdish: Daraheni ) is a district of Bingöl Province in Turkey.

The district is located in the south of the province, bordering the province of Diyarbakir. Average Genç is 1000 m above sea level.

In the Ottoman Empire the name was Darahini ( داراهيني ). From 1924 to 1927 Genç was a separate province, and only then was the province of Elazig then slammed 1936 Bingöl.

Zazaki and Kurmanji are the most common languages ​​of the district.
