Gene Allison

Gene Allison ( born August 29, 1934 in Pegram, Tennessee, † February 28, 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee) was an American gospel and R & B singer.

Allison came with his family at the age of seven years to Nashville, where he sang with his brother Laveert in the local gospel choir. Even his high school years he was engaged for the quartet The Fairfield Four; later he met producer Ted Jarrett and switched over to secular songs. In 1957 he had so on the Billboard Pop Charts reached with "You Can Make It If You Try" first hit, the number 36. In the R & B charts with the title space reached 14 Have Faith and Everything Will Be Alright followed in 1958 two more hits.

This success enabled him to open a restaurant, which he led with his family until the end of life, and he had other minor hits with " Have Faith " and " Everything Will Be Allright ". He died of liver and kidney failure in Nashville.
