Genesis is a French documentary by Claude Nuridsany and Marie Pérennou from the year 2004. Nature shots are doing with the comments of a shaman ( Sotigui Kouyaté ) underlaid.

Background

After the success of its predecessor film microcosm - The people of grasses wanted the directors Marie Pérennou and Claude Nuridsany by his own account, under no circumstances continue their multi-award -winning documentary about insects rotate and therefore turned to another topic, namely the creation of the universe. They mix the myths of creation legends that are mediated by the narrator.

Production

Nuridsany and Pérennou planned the film about two years, scene by scene, before they started filming. This took place on the Galapagos Islands, Iceland and Madagascar, but also in the studio and recorded a total of four years.

DVD and other publications

The German DVD of the film was released by Euro video in 2005 and contains as bonus material having a conversation with the creators ( " Genesis: Questions and Answers " ), as a " making-of " been instructed Shooting Diary ( " Genesis: Carnet de Tournage ") and the German theatrical trailer. The soundtrack by Bruno Coulais was released by EMI on CD and contains both an audio CD and an additional DVD with a making-of of the soundtrack. The book of the film, which was written by the director himself and is designed as a photo book with lyrical words appeared at Gerstenberg.
