Gennadi Krasnitsky

Gennady Alexandrovich Krasnizki (Russian Геннадий Александрович Красницкий; born August 27, 1940 in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, † June 12, 1988 in Kurgan - Tyube, Tajik SSR) was a Soviet football player and coach.

Life and career

Born in Tashkent Gennadi Krasnizki began his active football career with his hometown club Pachtakor Tashkent, where he was to spend his entire active career. Pachtakor had just risen only in the highest Soviet league. The striker Krasnizki quickly became a regular player and crowd favorite and contributed greatly to the relegation of his club.

Between 1961 and 1968 he also took part in a total of three games of the national team. Also in 1968 it was even in the Soviet Cup Final, but lost against Torpedo Moscow. Two years later Krasnizki ended his career as an active player.

Immediately thereafter Krasnizki began a coaching career. He supervised several smaller clubs from the Uzbek SSR, but it also followed engagements at his old club Pachtakor Tashkent and Zvezda Dschisak.

On June 12, 1988 Krasnizki committed suicide, in which he crashed out of the window of a high-rise hotel in Kurgan - Tyube. The reasons for his suicide remained unclear.
