Geno Petriashvili

Geno Petriaschwili (* 1994) is a Georgian wrestler.

Career

Geno Petriaschwili began as a teenager with rings, focusing on the free style.

In 2010 he took part in the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore, where she won in the weight category up to 100 kg behind Ali Magomedabirow, Azerbaijan and Abraham de Jesus Conyedo Ruano, Cuba a bronze medal. In 2011 he won a bronze medal also in the European Junior Championships in Zrenjanin in the heavyweight behind Igor Dschatko from Ukraine and Aslan Dschebischow from Azerbaijan. At the Junior European Championships 2011, the age group " Cadets " in Warsaw, he later won in the weight category up to 100 kg his first international title. He won there before Ruslan Gadschijew from Azerbaijan. In the same age group he was then in August 2011 in Szombathely Vice World Champion. In the final he lost it against the Americans Adam Coon.

2012 had Geno Petriaschwili suffered a disappointment at the Junior European Championships in Zagreb, because he came there in the heavyweight division only the 10th Place. But in September 2012 he won at the Junior World Championships in Pattaya heavyweight behind Magomedgadschi Nurasulow from Russia and Muradin Chuschchow, Ukraine, a bronze medal. In December 2012, he attended at the Georgian Seniors Championship for a small sensation, because he won there in the heavyweight division. On the way to this success he suggested, inter alia, multiple medalist at the World Championships Dawit Modsmanaschwili and fight for victory and the older and more experienced Giorgi Sakandelidse.

In March 2013 he was therefore used in the European Championship in Tbilisi. As the youngest participant in the heavyweight division he disappointed there no way, but secured with victories over Boban Danow, Macedonia and Magomedgadschi Nurasulow, a defeat against Alen Sassejew, Ukraine and a win over Nick Matuhin, Germany, a bronze medal. The same medal won Geno Petriaschwili some months later at the World Championships in Budapest. He defeated there Hitender, India and Rares Daniel Chintojan, Romania, then lost to Chadschimurad Gazalow, Russia and secured the bronze medal by defeating Deng Zhilei from China.
