Geoff Huegill

Geoff Huegill ( born March 4, 1979 in Gove, Northern Territory ) is an Australian swimmer and former world record holder in the 50m butterfly.

Huegill is the son of an Australian and a Thai woman. He lives in Scarborough.

He won the 2000 silver in the 4x100m medley relay and bronze over 100m butterfly at the Olympic Games. At the 2001 World Championships, he won gold over 50 meters butterfly and the 4x100 -meter medley relay. In addition, bronze 100m butterfly. In the Short Course World Championships 1997, he won gold in the 4x100 -meter medley relay and silver over 100m butterfly. In 2002 he won gold in both the 50m and the 100m butterfly and silver in the 4x100m medley relay.

At the Olympics in Athens he won the 100m butterfly only the eighth. He was more successful at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi, where he won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly and the 4x100m medley relay; but also with a silver medal in the 50m butterfly.

In 2011 he won at the World Swimming Championships in Shanghai Bronze 50 m butterfly.
