Geoffrey Holder

Geoffrey Holder ( born August 1, 1930 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago) is an actor, writer, singer and dancer. He is married to Carmen De Lavallade.

Life

Holder was born as one of four children. At the age of seven years, Holder joined his older brother and his dance troupe and was informed by them in dancing and painting. Beginning of 1954 he moved then to the USA. In December 1954 Holder then had his first theater appearance. In 1955, he married his present wife, with whom he has a son. Then he focused on dancing.

Holder became famous leave by the James Bond movie Live and Let Die, where he played the Baron Samedi. 1975 Holder won a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical ( The Wiz ) ​​.
