Geographe Bay

The Geographe Bay is located on the Indian Ocean in the south west of Australia, about 220 kilometers from Perth. It begins near the town of Bunbury and stretches across the villages of Busselton and Dunsborough up to the northern tip of the Leeuwin - Naturaliste National Park at Cape Naturaliste. Significantly for this part of the coast of Western Australia is the very shallow water, which makes it difficult to maritime access particularly for larger vessels to the adjacent coastal towns.

The Geographe Bay was named in May 1801 after the ship of French explorer Nicolas Baudin Géographe.
