Georg, Duke of Hohenberg

Georg Hohenberg ( born April 25, 1929 at Artstetten Artstetten- Pöbring, Lower Austria ) is a former Austrian diplomat and grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie Chotková of Chotkowas.

Life

Georg Hohenberg is the second son of Maximilian of Hohenberg and Elisabeth, née Countess of Waldburg Wolfegg and Waldsee. After his schooling at Stiftsgymnasium Melk 1949 he studied law at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1955. He joined the Economic Department of the Foreign Office and was transferred to the Embassy in Paris in 1957. In 1963 he returned to Vienna, before he came to Buenos Aires in 1966. 1978 to 1984 he was Austrian Ambassador in Tunis and 1988 to 1994, he represented the country against the Holy See.

Awards

He is a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece.

Family

On July 4, 1960, he married Eleanor Auersperg - Breunner (* 1928). They have three children:
