Georg Friedrich Kaulfuss

Georg Friedrich Kaulfuß ( born April 8, 1786 in Leipzig, † December 9, 1830 in Halle ( Saale) ) was a botanist.

His father was Christian Friedrich Doctor of Laws, his mother, Catharina Elisabeth, nee Grosser. Until the age of 15 he was taught by a private tutor.

In 1812 he discovered bruntonii in Styria Oreoweisa. He described Grimmia elongata. In 1816 he received his doctorate in Hall Dr. jur. et phil.

He became a lecturer in 1816, 1823 A.O. and 1828 full professor of botany.
