Georg Hassel
Johann Georg Heinrich Hassel ( born December 30, 1770 in Wolfenbüttel, † January 18, 1829 in Weimar ) was a German geographer.
Initially Office actuary in Wolfenbüttel 1809-1813 he was Director of the Statistical Bureau in Kassel. It was in 1815 Braunschweigischer representative in Paris and lived as a privateer in Weimar, where he worked with Bertuch to the country Industrie Comptoir since 1816.
He was co-editor since 1819 of the Manual of the latest geography, Weimar 1818-28, and with W. Müller of the second main section of the Ersch - Gruber 's Encyclopedia.
