Georg Hirth

Georg Hirth ( born July 13, 1841 in Gräfentonna, the district of Gotha, Thuringia, † March 28, 1916 in Tegernsee ) was a German statistician, economic writer, journalist and publisher.

Life

Georg Hirth, brother of the painter Rudolph Hirth, was initially 1857-1862 Apprentice " Perthesschen geographical institution" to Gotha. Subsequently, he studied economics at the University of Leipzig, where he simultaneously the " German gymnastics magazine" edited from 1863 to 1866.
