Georg Johansson (footballer)

Georg Johansson (* unknown, † unknown) was a Swedish football player. The midfielder was in the 1930s, twice for the Swedish national team in the square and took part in the World Cup 1934.

Career

Johansson played in the 1930s and 1940s for IK Brage. Although he initially took only second rate with the team, he was appointed in 1931 after the runner-up behind Movers Hallstahammar SK in Division 2 Norra first time in the national team. On July 26th of that year he made his debut in a 6-0 win over the Latvian national selection in Västerås in the National Jersey.

1934 reached Johansson with IK Brage as the season winner offs for promotion to the Allsvenskan. Although it missed by a 3-3 draw and a 2:3 defeat against IK Sleipner the leap into excellence, Johansson has been appointed yet three years after his hitherto single international match for the Swedish squad that took place in Italy World Cup. During the tournament, he came to the team that failed to Germany in the quarterfinals, not used.

After Johansson also in 1935 with IK Brage only in the promotion round - this time against IFK Norrköping - had failed, succeeded in 1937 by two victories against Hammarby IF the rise. In the same year he came to his second international appearance, he was able to crown with an international goal in the 2:3 defeat against the Norwegian national selection. In the following three years he played with IK Brage in the middle of the Allsvenskan, before in the season 1940/41, only a descent place could be occupied.
