Georg Lisiewski

Georg ( " Jerzy " ) Lisiewski (* 1674 in Olesko, Kingdom of Poland, † January 6, 1750 in Berlin, Kingdom of Prussia) was a Prussian baroque portrait painter of Polish origin, who worked in Berlin.

Life

Georg Lisiewski came from the Polish noble family Lisiewski and came in 1692 as a staff of the master builder Johann Friedrich von Gothe Eosander to Berlin and was trained in Berlin for a portrait painter. At the court of King Friedrich Wilhelm whose generals portrayed as the Tall Guys but also the Berlin court nobility.

Pictures by Georg Lisiewski arrived so also at the Dessau court. He also created the bourgeois portrait for the tomb CG Schrader in the Berlin Nikolai Church. In the Hohenzollern Museum, which was also destroyed in the Second World War, his portrait of the State Minister of Grumbkow was.
