George Charles Wallich

George Charles Wallich ( born November 16, 1815 in Calcutta, † March 31, 1899 in London ) was a British physician and marine biologist.

He was the son of Nathaniel Wallich. 1834 George Charles Wallich received his doctorate in Edinburgh Medical Doctor. In 1898 he was awarded the Linnean Medal of the Linnean Society of London.

As a botanist George Charles Wallich addressed the algae. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " GCWall. ".
