George Jefferson (athlete)

George Jefferson ( Jefferson George Gordon, born February 28, 1910 in Inglewood, † February 13, 1996 in Ventura, California ) was an American pole vaulter.

1931 and 1932 he finished third at the U.S. Championships.

At the Olympic Games 1932 in Los Angeles, he won the bronze medal with 4.20 m behind compatriot Bill Miller ( 4,315 m ) and the Japanese Shūhei Nishida (4.30 m).
