George McCall Theal

George McCall Theal ( born April 11, 1837 in Saint John (New Brunswick ), † April 17, 1919 in Wynberg, Cape Province ) was a Canadian-born British historian who is the study of the history of Southern Africa and its various cultures has been earned. A standard work is his History of South Africa from 1795-1872 (History of South Africa from 1795 to 1872 ). Also noteworthy are his works on immigration group of the Boers as well as the folklore of the Xhosa.
