George Tupou II.

George Tupou II ( Tongan: Siaosi Tupou II, born June 18, 1874 † April 5, 1918 ) was from 1893 until his death King of the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga. His maternal great-grandfather ( and father's side) was the first King of Tonga, George Tupou I. His parents were first cousins ​​, his grandparents brother and sister.

In 1898 he married the Princess of Edith Marie Pomare Tahiti Wahine of Eimeo, 1899, he married Lavinia Veiongo. The marriage sprang a daughter who became Queen Salote. After the death of Lavinia Veiongo of tuberculosis in 1902, he married in 1909, the 16 -year-old Anaseini Takipō, who bore him two more daughters.
