George Tzavellas
Giorgos Tzavellas, also known as George Tzavellas, Georges Tzavellas, Yiorgos Tzavellas or Yorgos Javellas (Greek Γιώργος Τζαβέλλας, * 1916 in Athens, † 18 October 1976), was a Greek film director, screenwriter and playwright, actor and film producer.
Life
Giorgos Tzavellas wrote 26 plays that he worked in part to screenplays ( including Asterismos tis parthenou ). The screenplays for all his films he wrote themselves
Giorgos Tzavellas applies alongside Michael Cacoyannis and Nikos Koundouros as one of the most important Greek film directors of the postwar era. In 1964 he was part of the international jury of the Berlinale.
