George Wunder

George Wunder ( born April 24, 1912 in New York; † 13 December 1987) was an American cartoonist and author. His most famous work is the adventure trip Terry and the Pirates.

Wonder grew up in Kingston, New York and studied art in distance learning. In 1936 he was hired by the Associated Press, where he created sports cartoons, among others, and worked with, among others Noel Sickles. After working for the Army in the years 1942 to 1946, he took over at the beginning of 1947 the discontinued by Milton Caniff strip Terry and the Pirates and led him, at times supported by Frank Springer, Russ Heath, Lee Elias and George Evans, up to whose setting continued in 1973. After the adjustment of Terry and the Pirates miracles operated as a painter.
