George Evans (cartoonist)

George Evans ( born February 5, 1920 in Harwood, Pennsylvania, † 22 June 2001) was an American comic book artist, known primarily for his flyer comics.

Before Evans began studying art, he had already published his first drawings. During the Second World War, he served for three years in the United States Air Force, after which he started his comic career in comic publishing Fiction House, for which he worked until 1950, where he worked on the plane Comic Heroes Air among others. During this time, Evans has also worked for the comic publisher Fawcett, where he worked on Captain Marvel, among other things, and took courses at the Art Students League of New York. From Fawcett, he moved to EC Comics, where he worked not only to Two Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat, but also horror and science fiction comics. After the collapse of EC Comics in 1956, he drew various comic books based on literary works.

From 1960 to 1973 George Evans assisted wonder with Terry and the Pirates. During this time the collaboration with DC Comics, for which he cooperated with Blackhawk began. He also recorded in this period horror comics. In the 1980s and 1990s, Evans recorded for various comic publishers, but also worked in advertising.
