Georges Aaron Bénédite

Georges Aaron Bénédite ( born August 10, 1857 in Nimes, France, † March 26, 1926 in Luxor, Egypt), was a French archaeologist.

He was Chair of Egyptian Archaeology and discovered in 1903 in the Saqqara Mastaba of Achethotep, a vizier of Pharaoh Unas. In the Valley of the Kings, he has unearthed several tombs, including 1900, the grave KV41.

He died shortly after he had visited the grave of Tutankhamen. His death fueled later the speculation surrounding a " Curse of the Pharaoh ".
