Georges Fournier

Georges Fournier ( born November 21, 1881 † December 1, 1954 ) was a French astronomer.

He focused on the observation of the planet Mars. In 1909 his discovery of clouds in the Martian atmosphere has been attributed. During the observing campaign 1924-1929 he was the only experienced observer who drew the derived rotation period in doubt.

The crater Fournier on Mars was named after him.
