Georges Holvoet

Baron Georges Holvoet ( born August 16, 1874 † 23 April 1964) was a Belgian lawyer, diplomat and politician.

At the age of 21, he received his doctorate of rights. In 1911 he was prosecuting attorney in 1922 Prosecutor of the Belgian Court of Cassation. 1923 he was appointed Governor of the Province of Antwerp, one of the five provinces of Flanders. He organized as head 1930 world exhibition " Exposition internationale " in Antwerp. He was also President of the Institut de Médecine Tropicale, Antwerp.

Georges Holvoet was Special Envoy of the Belgian king Albert I and Leopold III .. From 1945 to 1950 he was Head of Cabinet of Prince Regent Charles of Belgium.

He was a member of the Catholic fraternities KDSt.V. Bavaria Bonn in CV and K.A.V. Lovania lions.
