Georgios Bonanos

Georgios Bonanos (Greek Γεώργιος Μπονάνος; * April 10, 1863 Vouni (now about Lixouri ), † 10 May 1940 in Athens ) was a Greek sculptor.

Bonanos studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts and also took lessons from the famous sculptor Dimitrios Filippotis. Later he continued his studies in Rome. Bonanos works are based on the principles of classical Greek statues. His preferred material was marble. Bonanos stood next to statues and busts also produces cemetery temple and grave stones. Among his well-known statues include the Statue of Paris in the collection of Andreas Sygrou, as well as statues of Odysseas Androutsos and Ioannis Kapodistrias. Works by Bonanos found on Kefalonia, Athens and in private collections.
