Georgy Adelson-Velsky

Georgi Maximowitsch Adelson - Welski (Russian Георгий Максимович Адельсон - Вельский; Another common transcription Adelson - Velsky and Adelson - Velski; born January 8, 1922 in Samara ) is a Soviet mathematician and computer scientist. Together with Yevgeny Mikhailovich Landis in 1962, he developed the data structure of AVL tree in computer science. He lives in Ashdod, Israel.
