Georgy Vitsin

Georgi Mikhailovich Wizin (often listed as Georgy Vitsin; Russian Георгий Михайлович Вицин; * Apriljul 5 / 18 April 1917greg in Terijoki, .. † 22 October 2001 in Moscow ) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor.

Life

Wizin was born in Terijoki near Saint Petersburg. Terijoki formerly belonged to Finland and in Russia now bears the name Zelenogorsk. He studied from 1934 to 1935 at the Drama School of the Vakhtangov Theatre ( Московская драматическая Студия Е. Б. Вахтангова ) in Moscow. Since 1936, he performed at the Studio Theatre under the direction of Nikolai Chmeljow. His first film roles he played in the 1940s. Wizin appeared in numerous films and lent in cartoons and animated films, the protagonists of his voice. He achieved nationwide popularity in the Soviet Union by comedies in the 1960s. In 1990, the title People's Artist of the USSR awarded him.

Until his last day, he appeared as a theater actor. Wizin died on 22 October 2001 ( according to other sources on October 23 ) in a Moscow hospital. Wizin was buried in the cemetery Wagankowoer in Moscow. In Zelenogorsk 2008 a monument was erected for the actor.
