Gerald Finley

Gerald Finley ( born January 30, 1960 in Montreal, Canada) is a Canadian singer (baritone ).

Life and career

Born in Montreal Finley got his musical education at St. Matthew 's Anglican Church, Ottawa, the University of Ottawa, King's College and the Royal College of Music in London.

He is best known for his numerous interpretations of Mozart. So he sang, among other roles, such as Don Giovanni in the eponymous opera, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, as well as Figaro and Il Conte Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro. He made his debut on 24 January 1998 at the Metropolitan Opera as Papageno in The Magic Flute.

Finley is a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music, London.
