Gerald Vincent McDevitt

Gerald Vincent McDevitt ( born February 23, 1917 in Philadelphia, USA, † 29 September 1980) was Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia.

Life

Gerald Vincent McDevitt received on 30 May 1942, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On June 22, 1962, he was named by Pope John XXIII. Titular Bishop of Tigias and auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi, donated to him on 1 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, Francis James Furey, and the Bishop of Altoona - Johnstown, Joseph Carroll McCormick.
