Gerard Soeteman

Gerard Soeteman ( born July 1, 1936 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch screenwriter. After a debut in 1967 with a television series, he is primarily known for his work with Paul Verhoeven, resulting in, among other films Turkish Delight (1973 ), The Soldier of Orange (1977 ), Flesh and Blood ( 1985) and Black Book (2006) emerged. For Fons Rademakers he wrote on the adaptation of the novel Max Havelaar and the screenplay of The stopper, who was honored in 1986 for best foreign language film at the Oscars.

1989 Soeteman was honored for his work with the Faculty Award of the Film Awards Golden Calf.
