Gerd Tacke

The Economist Gerd Tacke ( born August 20, 1906 in Central Sohra, † 23 October 1997 in Munich) was CEO of Siemens AG.

Tacke did an apprenticeship as a printer and bookseller and later studied economics, in 1932 he came to Siemens. In 1951 he was a deputy, and five years later a full member of the board of the two parent companies Siemens - Schuckert and Siemens & Halske, but he was responsible for the international activities of the Group. After the founding of Siemens AG, he became its first president and was thus responsible for the comprehensive restructuring of the Group. After that, he was from 1972 to 1978 the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG.
