As a museum, it must continue with its previous tradition of collecting and Ankaufens in the future, but the classic shapes and traditional content must be presented in a timely manner so that they get importance for present and future generations. says the museum director. The DAM wants his exhibitions stage attractive and sensual than before. Not only is the architectural outcome is issued, but the way there.

The most important task for the DAM is to manage the balancing act between architecture as an aesthetic architecture for a few and architecture as a theme for many. The aesthetic domination of classical cultural elites today may not yet be completely obsolete, but is no longer the only cultural scale. Today's art and cultural education must also be seen under the aspect of the experience and entertainment value.

The DAM is a Frankfurt Museum, which has made international architecture exhibitions since its inception until today. Nevertheless afford neither the federal government nor the State of Hesse financial subsidies.
