The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases eV (DZNE ) belongs to the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres

History

2007 the federal government decided on a meeting in Meseberg the establishment of the DZNE. Price

Since 2011, the DZNE gives together with the Cultural Foundation of Hartwig Piepenbrock biennial Hartwig Piepenbrock DZNE price for research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and aging, which is endowed with € 60,000. The first winner is Konrad Beyreuther. The 2013 prize awarded share Adriano Aguzzi and Charles Weissmann for their prion research.
