German Forum Party

The German Forum Party ( DFP) was a party in the final phase of the GDR.

She was a spin-off from the New Forum, one of the East German civil rights movements of the reversal time. The party was founded on January 27, 1990 in Karl- Marx-Stadt. Its first chairman was Jürgen Schmieder, his deputy Bernhard Opitz. In the political spectrum, the DFP arranged as a " people's party of the political center " to. Before the GDR parliament election in 1990 she received an offer to join the coalition Alliance for Germany. This suggested the party out, however, although she participated in the talks. On 11 August 1990, the parties to the BFD merged with the West German FDP.
