German Network for Evidence Based Medicine

The German Network for Evidence -Based Medicine ( DNEbM ) is a scientific society, which deals with the theory and practice of evidence-based medicine (EBM ). The Network is a member of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany ( AWMF ).

Work

The DNEbM was founded in 1998 and 2000, registered as a charitable organization. The network has around 850 members from all areas of healthcare, including almost 60 institutional members, eg AkdÄ, AQuMed, AOK Bundesverband, Federal Association of Psychotherapists, DEGAM, G -BA, IQWiG.

The network is the professional exchange of EBM to those interested through a Web-based entertainment information and communication platform and the journal Journal for Evidence, Training and Quality in Healthcare ( ZEFQ ). In addition, it is active in the development and provision of training, further education and training curricula and models as well as the coordination of ongoing EBM - related research, education and practice. In addition to conducting evaluation and research projects, working on the development of theory, methods and ethics of EBM. Evidence-based Nursing ( EbN ) is represented in the DNEbM since 2002 by the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion.

The DNEbM gives every year since 2008, named after a Canadian physician David Sackett Science Award, the David Sackett Prize. Since 2009, in addition to the price of the journalists DNEbM EBM exists in the media. This is endowed with 1500 Euros.

The Austrian members of the DNEbM have created a special information service for Austria in 2010 at the address www.ebm - netzwerk.at.

The DNEbM has from the end of 2013 his office in the house of the German Cancer Society in Berlin. Previously, she was settled in 2002 the Medical Centre for Quality in Medicine.
