The U 9 was a German U- boat of the class 205 of the Bundeswehr with the NATO number S 188

History

The construction was carried out by the Kiel HDW, the commissioning took place on 11 April 1967.

Caused a stir U 9 in October 1983, when it southwest of the lighthouse Kiel collided with a British offshore supply Maersk Plotter. However, it was only minor property damage.

After its decommissioning on June 3, 1993, is on display now in the Technik Museum Speyer.
