German Volleyball Player of the Year

Volleyball players of the year is a title for volleyball players, which is awarded in Germany since 1979 and in Austria since 1980.

Germany

Since 1979, the readers of the journal Volleyball Magazine choose the volleyball players of the year. For men, Burkhard brews, which until 1984 won the title of 1980 five times in a row, the most successful player. For women, Angelina Grün holds with nine awards from 2000 to 2008 the record.

In 1990, two volleyball players were named, respectively, a player from the East and a player from the West.

Austria

In Austria, a volleyball, a volleyball player and a coach of the year was chosen since 1980. After only five years, provided you have the choice but again, only in 1989 was again a vote. 2004 and 2005 the award was given again. 2005, a team of the year was chosen.
