Germania FV

The FV Germania is a former football club from Mexico City, which was founded on 15 June 1915 by German immigrants and his team between 1915 /16 and 1932/33, an integral part of the Primera Fuerza, which at that time the highest Mexican league belonged. The team that because of their strange-looking game clothing in the colors white and black by the nickname Los funebres ( the bodies ) was known, had her best time in the early 1920s.

History

Because it had come to association disputes, two championships were held annually in the seasons 1920/21 and 1921/22: the - have contributed Liga Nacional and the Liga Mexicana in "the Germans" and they win in 1921 - as superior classified could. However, the official recognition as a "masterpiece of Mexico " they were denied due to the " unofficial status " of this league. Two years later they had this goal but then very close. Substantial contribution to this success was the committed before the start of the season 1922/23, Swiss striker Kurt Friedrichs, who came in 13 ( out of 14 ) games for use, scoring a total of 12 results. After the penultimate round of the FV Germania led the table with one point ahead of the CF Asturias. On the final day, there was just the meeting of these two teams.

After Octavio Rimada " the Asturian " had shot lead with a 2-1, complaining Pérez Meléndez, the keeper of the FV Germania, a foul on him, that was allegedly preceded the goal. He did this with such emphasis that he massively insulted the referee and was directed by this finally the field. In protest against this decision the rest of the team had left the field of play, which Asturias won the championship.

In the season 1932/33, which reached now only in the second season playing team surprising the cup final, but failed despite satisfactory performance with 1:3 at Necaxa. It was also the last official match of the club that disbanded its football team in 1933.

The " team of the first hour " was composed as follows: Arnold ( in goal ) - Edgar Giffenig ( club founder ) and Walter Mues ( in defense ) - Erich Clemens, Erich Mues (Captain) and Germán Stuht ( in the middle ) - M Lanza., A. Marquet, Charles Mues, Friedrich Grise and Paul Stein ( in the attack).

  • Kurt Friedrichs; probably former Swiss national team (see Note 2 below).
  • Adeodato López; only national player of Mexico, who was during a game participation countries ( against Chile on June 5, 1928 ) at FV Germania under contract.
