Gerry Scotti

Gerry Scotti ( born August 7, 1956 in Miradolo Terme, Pavia as Virginio Scotti ) is an Italian television show host, actor and former Member of the Italian Parliament.

After dropping law school Scotti began a career as a disc jockey at Radio Milano International. In 1982 he was speaker at Radio Deejay and a year later a presenter at DeeJay Television, the first Italian program for video clips, aired by Italia 1 Scotti also hosted other music programs such as Festivalbar, and still works as a radio presenter.

Since the 1990s, Gerry Scotti is one of the busiest presenters of Italian television, almost exclusively for the station Canale 5 Mediaset. He was best known as quizmaster, he hosts the show chi vuol essere Milionario? ( Italian edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? ) and the quiz Passaparola. In addition, he also directed many entertainment shows such as La sai l' ultima? , La Corrida and Paperissima ( Michelle Hunziker ) and the satirical program Striscia la Notizia. Scotti also acted in several sitcoms and television films as an actor.

In 2008, he won the Italian TV award Telegatto in platinum for his career.

Scotti from 1987 to 1993 Member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the Italian Socialist Party.

Currently (March 2012 ), he presents the program "The Money Drop".
