Get Behind Me Satan is a rock music album of the American band The White Stripes from the year 2005. 2006 it won the Grammy in the category of "Best Alternative Music Performance."

Background

The album was recorded Man Studios (Detroit ) in February in the third. After a little more than a month in the studio it appeared at Peppermint Stripe Music in April. It was taken without great technical aids, which is reflected in the songs. Only Blue Orchid seems to be an exception. The name of the album "Get Behind Me Satan " refers to a quote from the Bible:

" But he turned and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for are you thinking not of what God, but the things of men 's. "

Importance

The previously dominant Jack White's guitar gets on this album for the first time in the background, but the piano comes to the fore.
