Get Up is a song by the American rapper 50 Cent. It was first published on 7 October 2008. Get Up originally intended to be included on the album Before I Self Destruct. Producer for the song was Scott Storch. According to the 50 Cent song by 2Pacs song California Love is inspired.

Background

The track was first released by 50 Cent on 7 October 2008 on Myspace and his side ThisIs50.com on iTunes a week later. On 30 October of the same year, the explicit version also appeared on YouTube.

In the text it comes to getting people on the dance floor to dance. 50 Cent reunited with Scott Storch, who had previously already produced and co-written by Jackson Candy Shop and Just a Lil Bit.

Music Video

The official music video was first released on YouTube on June 16, 2009. There it got so far ( October 2012 ) about 23 million views. The music video shows the beginning 50 cents while exercising. At the end of the video is 50 cents with a woman in front of a transition as the last man on earth. The recording is based on the film I Am Legend. Among other things, had Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Spider Loc with the clip. 50 Cent told MTV News:

You could reach several charts with Get Up: Place 73 in Australia, number four in Belgium ( Wallonia), number 31 in Canada, # 33 in Ireland, # 24 in the UK and number 44 in the United States. In Belgium, seven remained in Canada eleven, nine in Ireland, the UK and eight in the United States nine weeks on the charts.
