Shady Records
Shady Records is an American record label founded by rapper Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg in 1999, and only takes hip- hop artists under contract. The name is derived from Eminem's artistic alter ego Slim Shady. Shady Records is closely related to Interscope and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment label. It belongs to Universal Music Group. Overall the label has achieved more than 100 million albums sold. The most successful album of the label is The Eminem Show with 20 million sold copies worldwide.
Label history
With the founding of the label in 1999 Eminem's rap group D12 was signed, so far released two albums on Shady Records. In 2000, the Detroit rapper Obie Trice, who also released two albums on the label followed. Two years later, 50 Cent Shady Records was signed. This made a major addition to Eminem to the fact that Shady Records became one of the most successful hip-hop labels in the world. The repertoire was expanded from Eminem to his own fashion line called Shady Collection. Shortly after 50 Cent Stat Quo was signed in 2003. However, this left the label, as well as the 2005 undertook Bobby Creekwater, after several years without album's release, again. Opened in 2004, Eminem uncensored hip-hop radio station Shade45 on Sirius XM ( Sirius Satellite Radio ), on which he and the rappers who are at Shady Records, as well as the DJs of Shady Records, upload songs and comment. From 2006 to 2011 also was the rapper Cashis, which only brought out an EP on the label, Shady Records. While Obie Trice 2008, the label left, you could announce the beginning of 2011 the obligation of the rap group Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf the rapper, who is now working on the first publications on Shady Records. In addition to the rappers the beat producer Jeff Bass, The Alchemist, Luis Resto and Rikanatti are the label.
On February 20, 2014 announced 50 cents that he is no longer with Shady Records.
