Shady Records

Shady Records is an American record label founded by rapper Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg in 1999, and only takes hip- hop artists under contract. The name is derived from Eminem's artistic alter ego Slim Shady. Shady Records is closely related to Interscope and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment label. It belongs to Universal Music Group. Overall the label has achieved more than 100 million albums sold. The most successful album of the label is The Eminem Show with 20 million sold copies worldwide.

Label history

With the founding of the label in 1999 Eminem's rap group D12 was signed, so far released two albums on Shady Records. In 2000, the Detroit rapper Obie Trice, who also released two albums on the label followed. Two years later, 50 Cent Shady Records was signed.
