Ghat

Ghat ( Hindi, m., घाट, Ghat ) is called in India a stairway leading down to a water body. In addition to multiple uses, they are often important bathing places for ritual ablutions of the Hindus. Ghats part of the cityscape of many Indian towns located on the river bank. A famous example is the sacred city of Varanasi on the Ganges Ghats with her.
