Ghost Hunters
Ghost Hunters is an American docu-soap the transmitter Syfy. There they will be broadcast since 6 October 2004. The German premiere was on September 20, 2009 The Fourth. The series is about TAPS ( The Atlantic Paranormal Society), a group of self-styled ghost hunters and their stakes.
Is headed by Jason Hawes this group and Grant Wilson. While the two earlier during the day worked as a plumber for a pipe cleaning company, they do so now only if they find the time for it, since they are heavily involved in the Ghost Hunters series.
The investigation
Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson investigate together with other team members of TAPS places where paranormal activity is suspected. They use different equipment, such as infrared thermometers, cameras, night vision devices and magnetometers.
At the beginning of an investigation commit the team members together with the owner the location. This explains where abnormalities which have occurred so far. The next step is to set up various electronic devices to the so-called hot spots, so at the places mentioned with abnormalities. After the team takes several hours various measurements, for example, the electric field strength and temperature. Digital video cameras are possibly occurring phenomena hold and also recorded voices trying to take. Then one starts to analyze the data obtained.
A few days later, after the collected data are examined, Hawes and Wilson discuss with the owner of the affected locality their results. Should there a paranormal activity have been found, they make proposals for dealing with it.
In spite of several thousand hours of picture and sound TAPS can show only minor alleged paranormal phenomena.
Equipment

In the early episodes TAPS had his headquarters in a camping trailer behind Jason Hawes ' house. Them was a white van to transport their equipment. Criticism
In the U.S., Ghost Hunters has been criticized by various skeptics, for example, from the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. The Association Skeptikal Analysis of the Paranormal Society ( SAPS) has been specially created to explain parts of the consignment rational and her so to take the supernatural.
Ghost Hunters International
Since 2008, in addition to the normal Ghost Hunters series also an offshoot called Ghost Hunters International.
